3rd Grade-5th Grade
3rd Grade-5th grade cover the subjects: Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and English
There’s more to learn!
In our 3rd grade class, we present students with new challenges and open their minds up to a new educational world. After becoming comfortable and proficient in the subjects of their previous grades we add on three new subjects to their curriculum to expand their minds to new and fresh ideas that will spark their curiosity and eagerness to learn. These three new subjects are:
Science: Science grants students the ability to begin to view the world in a totally new light by teaching them new scientific concepts and rules. These new concepts allow them to see the earth not only on the surface level but also through a scientific lens. They’ll learn how the earth functions and how their very own actions can affect these processes.
Social Studies: Social studies is the combined study of various aspects or branches of the study of human society such as the arts, and social sciences, mostly including economics, history, and civics. Social studies gives students another pair of lenses to look through. A social lens where they can see the functions of society and economics. The knowledge that they gain from this is the knowledge that will aid them throughout their adulthood.
English: Combined with all of their other subjects is arguably the most important one of them all. English is the study of human communication through the English language. We live in a social world where interaction with one another is inevitable and necessary, so learning the skill of effective and proper communication is crucial for one’s growth. This skill is one that we believe must be taught to children young and once the seed has been planted, it is something that will grow along with them and improve as they experience the world. Early education in language skills helps children develop critical thinking, empathy, and the ability to engage in meaningful conversations.
Fifth Grade!
Get ready!
This is when we really start to push our students to do their best. Fifth grade is such an important grade the ensure that a child has indeed grasped and understood all of the concepts and subjects that they’ve learned up until that point. This is the grade where they are introduced to subjects a little more complex than anything they’ve learned before and it is crucial for them to understand these too as this new knowledge combined with what they’ve learned all throughout elementary school is what’s going to carry them over to the next stage of their academic journey. Middle school.
We consider fifth grade a year of preparation for our students. There’s nothing worse than being thrown into a world that you aren’t ready for. Our goal is to prepare students not only academically but also emotionally for the transition from elementary to middle school. By fostering a deep comprehension of core subjects and introducing them to more advanced topics, we aim to equip them with the tools they need to thrive in their next academic phase. We believe that preparation should go hand in hand with excitement, so we work to make this transition an inspiring and motivating experience for every student. We want our students to feel confident and eager as they step into a new chapter of their educational journey, ready to embrace the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. That’s fifth grade at NRTA.
